As Texas Southern University strengthens its public image, one of the key components of a strong institutional brand is a unified graphic identity. It is our reputation. It is the perception that students, parents, alumni, donors, members of the community and the outside world have of this University.
Any use of the column mark or university name beyond approved logo usages noted below or in the Brand Guidelines must be reviewed and approved by marketing. The logo should be clearly readable and not separated into parts, printed in color combinations other than those found in the Brand Guidelines , or combined as art with text. For assistance downloading logo files, please review our help document. Our classic logo can be used on any marketing or communication pieces distributed on or off campus for non-recruitment events and activities put on by Colleges, Schools, Departments, Programs, or Offices. For instance: posters, postcards, flyers, or brochures for Theatre or Music performances, Art Exhibits, Lectures, Speaker events, Student Activities, etc.
Any logo file can also be downloaded as a JPG once you reach the "Download image" prompt. For help choosing the correct file type, see below. Our logo with access points shall be used on any marketing or communication pieces developed for recruitment purposes — to generate new student inquiries or applications as well as to increase yield, and support orientations and similar events.
This aids prospective students in knowing that we have multiple access points to the University, including online courses and programs.
Print materials require a larger file size than those used for digital or web with a resolution of dpi dots per inch. Print files often use the CMYK cyan, magenta, yellow, black color mode. Print projects include posters, banners, brochures, postcards, notecards, and even clothing. Logos used for web and digital materials are displayed on computer screens at 72 ppi pixels per inch and use the RGB red, green, blue color mode. Images for digital use require smaller files than those used for print projects.
Use approved University logos only for internal on-campus purposes or approved University social media accounts. Do not alter the orientation, proportions, or color of the logo; do not enhance, embellish, add text to, or otherwise change University logos. Any unauthorized alteration is considered a trademark violation. Do not share, disseminate, or copy any logo, electronically or physically, without express written consent from the Office of Marketing.
Do not print or embroider the logos on any apparel, document, gear, product, or presentation without express written consent from the Office of Marketing.
